Carine Roitfeld Picks Top 20 Models of the Moment

Former editor in chief of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld has compiled a 48-page magazine to feature 20 “girls of the moment” in the upcoming 8th issue of CR. We all know Roitfeld also has a modeling background, which makes her choices even more intriguing. Who are her favorites? Who are on the Hot-Now list? It turns out Roitfeld does have favorites among the chosen ones: “For me, no model was more iconic than Christie Brinkley with her white teeth and blonde hair, and her image was so compelling that it set a new beauty standard.”

Carine Roitfeld’s magazine will be available at the newsstands starting from February 25, just in time for the blooming spring. Roitfeld’s list will most probably make an impact on the careers of the mentioned models and the payments they receive from the designers. The opinion of Harper’s Bazaar’s global fashion director and famous stylist just can’t be ignored. It will surely reach out the key players of the industry and maybe help shape the new icons of the modeling market.

Roitfeld herself is very content with the current situation and trends. “Now suddenly in 2016, we see the comeback of the American girl, and I find myself so excited by this new generation of stars,” she told WWD.

The model list is not by far the most interesting element about the new CR issue; it’s also how they are dressed. The top 20 models appear in Yeezy Season 2 by Kanye West (an interesting choice, Roitfeld!) and shoes from the Italian master Gianvito Rossi.

The photographers’ list is also very impressive, featuring some of the most famous names in the industry (the once who you not only respect, but are also so scared of). That list is dominated by Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Avedon, Bjorn Iooss, Sebastian Faena, Felix Cooper and Alex Olson. These masterminds have contributed to the new issue with their awe-inspiring and breathtaking shots. It’s not about brands and products here, it’s about the muses and their beauty, so we expect a contagious dose of creativity and inspiration.

The magazine promises to be an interesting read as it’s going to be enormous in weight, as compared to other mainstream fashion magazines. It will be spread in 65,000 copies and will cost $30.

If you’re not sure whether this is the best selection of models we should admire, you can always make up your own list and share with us, we’d love to hear about your favorites!
